Monday, March 16 - Decade Day (dress as someone would in your favorite decade) Tuesday, March 17 - Wear Something Green Wednesday, March 18 - Wacky Tacky Wednesday Thursday, March 19 - Black and White Day This was the question Grade 6 students were asked earlier this week. The responses were overwhelming. Teachers are now working with the classes to classify this information into a few major categories. Once those categories are created, we will have a clear criteria that will guide us towards success in the creation of our own short stories. Stay tuned!
Tomorrow marks the wrap-up of our inquiry into the Iroquois Confederacy and how this society weaves the system of consensus-building into their decision making process. I have designed a final assessment that will challenge students to demonstrate their understanding of the major concepts covered during the unit. My philosophy around assessment is based on providing students with a n opportunity to showcase what they know and this guided the development of the summative quiz they will take tomorrow. Today, I gave students a preview of what they can expect and they seemed to appreciate the "heads up". Here's what we discussed: The Iroquois Quiz
